He already considered a "living legend of the art world", Shakthidass continues to surprise and amaze.
He started his career as cine publicity designer with the excellent guidance from his guru, the Late Ketha Samba Moorthy garu and Late Kudaravalli Nageshwar Rao garu. He was also very fortunate to be the one and only student of Late Vaddadi Papayya garu.
He started to draw wrappers and storyboard illustration from 1973 for books like CHANDAMAMA, ROTARY NEWS, BOMMARILLU, MVS NOVELS, BALABHARATHI, RISHI PEETTAM, BUJJAI, CHINNARI, BALAMITRA, VIJAYA PUBLICATIONS, ORIYA VIJAY etc.
Mr. Shakthidass used to say that he is very grateful to Mr. Vijaya Bapineedu garu for giving a golden opportunity to draw wrappers in his children magazine BOMMARILU which has shown to the world as a mythological artist.
For everyone’s success there will be someone behind it. For my success there is none other than 2 legends Mr. Karri Appa Rao Babji (Film Producer) and Mr. Karri Ranga Rao (Film Artist) who encouraged me a lot.
